Founded by an entrepreneur originally from Hong Kong with international business experience in Central Europe since the early 1990s, East Asia Mart combines Asian cultural understanding with long-term experience in international trade, multicultural retail, and cross-border sourcing. This background helped shape the company’s vision of introducing not only Asian products, but also Asian food culture and everyday convenience experiences to Finland and the Nordic region.

Over the years, East Asia Mart has evolved beyond a traditional Asian grocery store. The company has continuously worked on developing a retail model inspired by the Japanese and East Asian “Konbini” concept — combining convenience, ready-to-eat meals, quality food products, and a welcoming community-oriented shopping experience adapted for the Nordic market.
